Local recycling

We want to focus on processing recycling locally. We believe it defeats the point of recycling if we need to ship it across the world.

Learn from the best

Nobody has all of the answers. We will be open to new ideas and see what other councils do to improve recycling. We will consider all ideas to improve recycling in Hampshire.

Joined up working

Where possible we will work together with neighbouring councils to bring cost savings and increased capacity. Everyone should be recycling, if there are efficiency savings to be made its our job to find them.

Getting to work

Our towns and county has an undistinguished record in recycling. Although central government struggles to cope with the threats of, say, plastic, much could be improved locally by following the practices of other councils at the top of the recycling league.
